How we came to be
The Sonoma State Rowing Club was founded in 2003, making this coming spring season its 18th year of being an active club on campus.
What to expect
We encourage every individual to try the sport for at least two weeks in which we teach the basics of the sport. Our experienced coaches will be teaching novices how to properly lift weights and how to hop in a boat and take some of the most graceful strokes you could imagine.
One thing to expect is to see your ability to time manage rise. Most athletes learn how to balance practice, school, social activities and sleep while still keeping their grades up.
Rowing is not only physically challenging but it exhausts the mind as well. You learn how to persevere through difficult scenarios in order to come out on top, as champions. It's one thing to be able to be physically capable of achieving greatness, but you'll learn how to push yourself past the breaking point and come out the other end victorious.
If you think rowing is the sport for you, or you would like to find out if it is, don't be shy come be apart of our community!
